"On  December 22nd, President Biden expanded Executive Order #14068 to include Russian Seafood reprocessed into new forms in second countries.  Specifically, salmon, cod, pollock, and crab. This includes any preparations, even if substantially transformed into another product.  All products currently under contract must be delivered by February 21, 2024. 

Similar to the initial Executive Order on Russian Crab in March 2022 that banned Russian crab imports, there will be unforeseen ramifications in the U.S. seafood market.  Russian crab importers and marketers have adeptly pivoted  over the last two year period rotating to new products and sources, even as their Russian crab inventory wound down.  Now the onus shifts to the importers and processors of pollock, cod, salmon, and crab products to make necessary changes in their business models.   "
